Chapel of St Peter-on-the-Wall, Bradwell-On-Sea, Essex - Sunday 19th October 2014

Chapel of St Peter-on-the-Wall,was founded by St Cedd in 654 AD on the foundations of the Gatehouse of a Roman Fort. Hence the "on the wall" of the Roman Fort.
This little Chapel is a long way off the beaten track and not to be visited in the teath of an Easterly Gale, being very exposed out on the end of the Blackwater Estuary.

To get here you come off the A12 towards Maldon and then wind you way through the lanes to Bradwell where the Cahpel is signposted. The best thing is to put these co-ordinates in your sat-nav N 51.735157, E 0.939144.
There is a carpark and a short walk to the Cahpel.
There are however mo facilities. When we were there the Pub in Bradwell had had a fire.
